Lil Peep
Raised in Long Beach, Lil Peep (born Gustav Åhr) launched his career by independently releasing his music online during his teenage years. His emergence came in 2015 with a series of successful singles, including “Star Shopping”, and his initial solo mixtapes, "Lil Peep; Part One" and "Live Forever". Within a span of two years, Peep cultivated a massive following, resonating with audiences through his raw lyrics exploring themes of love, loss, and solitude.
Dubbed "the future of emo" by Pitchfork in January 2017, Peep's genre-blending approach contributed to his standing as a trailblazer in the late 2010s post-emo revival. Prior to the release of his debut album "Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1" in 2017, he had already delivered a series of full-length projects and several extended plays, building anticipation among fans.
Following the success of his 2016 mixtapes "Crybaby" and "Hellboy", Peep embarked on tours across the United States and Europe. Additionally, he made appearances on Fashion Week runways and engaged in collaborations with increasingly prominent artists across New York, Los Angeles, and London throughout 2017. Tragically, just two weeks after celebrating his 21st birthday, Peep died.
Since emerging in 2015, Lil Peep has accumulated an impressive 7 billion views on YouTube and over 25 billion streams across all platforms, solidifying his legacy as one of the most influential rising stars in the music scene.
